Each year, we offer as many performance opportunities as possible to our students, in a variety of situations.

A sample of the performance opportunities that our students participate in:

  • in•form•als: In house performances that pair emerging choreographers with students and professional dancers.

  • Winter Concert: A performance at the George Rowland White Performance Space at Point Park University.  Students experience a professional, cross-genre audition for prominent choreographers such as PearlAnn Porter of the Pillow Project and Dana Lasota.  Auditions are October 8th.  More information is listed under "Performances > Auditions"

  • Spring Performance: Previously performed in the beautiful Hillman Center for Performing Arts at the Shady Side Academy as well as the August Wilson Center.  The Spring Concert provides an opportunity for students of all levels to perform together.

  • Community performances:  DCP students have the option to perform in a variety of community outreach performances.  In the past, students have performed at nursing homes, festivals, and outdoor studio showcases.

We believe that an essential part of a preprofessional training program is professional grade performance experience.
