Summer Dance Intensive SDI is a three week program providing complete immersion in the contemporary arts culminating in performance. Dancers, ages 12 and older, will have the opportunity to study classical and contemporary technique as well as partnering, kinesiology, choreography, Pilates and more. In addition to the various classes offered, SDI presents a unique opportunity for dancers to work with faculty in an intimate setting. The program concludes with a concert where dancers perform the works of several guest and resident choreographers.SDI is available to any intermediate to advanced dancer (space is limited). This skill range provides perspective and creates opportunities for mutual respect. The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh Registration SDI has limited space. The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh is conveniently located on a trolley line in the south hills of Pittsburgh. In addition to the city, the trolley provides access to movies, malls, restaurants and local shopping districts. Host housing is available for $350 a week and is on a first come first serve basis.
The Dance Conservatory of Pittsburgh was founded to provide an education and environment for self exploration, creation and discipline through the art of dance. Since its inception in 2003, the conservatory has created an apprenticeship program for high school seniors to study with its professional company, H20 Contemporary Dance, fashioned a youth and pre-school program and provided opportunities for performance and choreography within the professional dance community. The DCP formula for dance education is comprised of the best faculty, overall working knowledge of body mechanics and boundless creative opportunities. The Conservatory is a progressive learning institution taking a contemporary approach to classical technique. Because of this commitment, DCP offers an uncompromising education that is available to anyone regardless of their future aspirations.
